We are a non-profit standing up for Public Rights in Orono, Minnesota

We are nonpartisan in that we believe smart development can be in concert with conservation. Our primary purpose is to give the Citizens of Orono a voice in our community regarding land use and city services. We are focused to further environmental interest in Natural areas including Big Woods and Wetlands and to conserve our public lands for generations to come.

So much has happened in the past three plus years since we started our non-profit. One thing has stayed constant - the need for Citizens to get involved with their communities and to have their voices heard. Thank you for voting in a new Mayor, and two new council members. Congratulations to Mayor elect Bob Tunheim, and Council members Steve Persian and Jacqueline Ricks!

Although the development of land in Orono has been, and continues to be our focus, we have also found governance conflicts of interest, and the Long Lake Fire Department important issues that the Citizens of Orono need to weigh in on. As we delve into these issues further, please see our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages linked here and our Youtube Channel here for more information: https://www.youtube.com/@friendsoforono9551
