Are we done yet? What is the total cost of the Taj Mahal Public Works Building?

We were told $13 million for the initial bonding and now we are projected close to $17 or $18 million for the project. Quite the 50% overrun isn’t it?

How can we stop the spending? Write to your City Council member and ask them to stop spending taxpayer funds without explanation or an overall budget. Ask Mayor Walsh and City Administrator Adam Edwards what the total projected budget is for the Taj and ask what the contingency is for the overrun. After all, multimillion dollar taxpayer expenditures shouldn’t be run on “intuition” as Mayor Walsh commented in the recent Coffee with the Mayor session held April 12, 2023, should they?
