Orono’s Matt Johnson chides fellow council member

Dear Mr. Council member Matt Johnson;

Please note that openly disparaging fellow city council members appears unbecoming and unprofessional.

During the last City Council meeting Monday April 10 you said, “Are you insinuating that we are running from difficult work now?” to a fellow council member.

Nothing could be further from the truth and that is painfully obvious to everyone.

One of the most prudent paths forward through the #ProudBoys #J6 apparently racist and anti semitic commentary is possible meditation. Only one city council member has offered that constructive suggestion - more than once.

Either the League of Cities or a qualified outside negotiator could resolve this tension before it becomes yet another lawsuit against our city.

Stop the division please, and let’s get back to “indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
