The next Preselected Orono City Council member announced
Where is our new City Council woman #mariaveach ? Who is she? Was the June 12th City Council meeting any way to introduce our next City Council member?
Welcome to #dennysworld - where public assets are given away to city officials, where millions of dollars are spent without the public’s vote, where city officials lose their licenses and have numerous criminal complaints and lawsuits both civil and federal pending.
Citizens Want Fire Decision Reconsidered
Citizens Speak Out in the recent Laker Pioneer 6/17/23
This issue will not be over until Orono lays down the autocratic sword and listens to the people. We want our Firefighters together with the Long Lake Fire Department. We want fiscal conservancy and our voices heard.
What’s the biggest issue facing Orono right now? Debt.
What’s the biggest issue facing Orono right now?
Debt. Orono is in debt to more than double we ever have been and that debt is going to possibly grow with further overruns on projects that we didn’t vote for.
We need Citizens to come to City Council meetings and speak about our fiscal situation. No matter how Mayor Walsh spins the tale, we are in massive debt for years to come with high interest payments more than ever before.
How many Millions are Orono Citizens going to let Mayor Walsh run over?
Ever heard the comment you are up to your eyeballs in debt? Well that may very well be the case already in Orono. If #spendydenny Walsh gets his new duplicate fire department this coming Monday, he apparently will spend anywhere from $7 million up to $15 million as estimated by former Firefighters.
Long Lake, Medina, Mtka Beach, Orono You are All Invited!
It's Time for the All Important Meeting!
The Orono City Council Work Session at 4 pm Monday June 12th is when new candidates for the open Orono City Council member position will be interviewed. Also on the roster for the City Council Meeting is another decision about Orono Fire Service which we all know would be far less costly if we stayed with Long Lake, Medina and Minnetonka Beach.
Where is Orono's Fiscally Conservative Leadership?
It’s not Orono Mayor #SpendyDenny Walsh who wants to spend millions more of your tax dollars for a duplicate Fire Department we don’t want or need. This after placing Orono in higher debt than ever in history - $19 million plus interest - #MayorDennisWalsh raised city taxes 20.77%. last year.
It's a simple fix: Re-evaluate Orono's percentage
We need a simple re-evaluation of the percentage that Orono is paying and keep our extraordinary Long Lake Fire Department intact with a new contract. Simple. Cost Effective. Rational.
Who will parachute in to become the next Orono City Council member?
Is this the proper process? Why does Mayor Walsh get to choose another “yes” person for our City Council?
Shouldn’t Citizens have a say? How can any responsible City Council make such a quick turnaround without front loading the decision?
Thank you to all our Veterans for Your Service
Respect and Remember all those who have Served.
Where is Victoria Seals Statement to the Citizens?
Victoria Seals, why didn’t you resign publicly? Why haven’t the citizens of Orono heard why you are resigning? Not notifying the citizens of your planned resignation under the mayor/council agenda or at the very least putting out a written resignation is not fair to those you have served.
Do you want Tires or Turtles in Orono wetlands, woods and streams?
Let’s look at a new perspective. If 20 - 40 mountain bikes came through your habitat several times a week, would you stay? Most likely not if you were a turtle.
“Walsh said city elections are sufficient public engagement”
Orono was not a kingdom nor an empire and yet, the citizens of Orono are treated as subjects with little rights to voice their opinions and participate in the process of their own government.
Mayor Walsh said elections replace citizen input yet he wonders why there is so much discontent in Orono.

One day you are in and the next day you are out in Orono.
Orono's Apparent Conflicts of Interest
Let us count some of many ways it appears there are conflicts of interest in Orono:
1) #MayorDennisWalsh will not survey the Orono citizens, nor will he listen to repeated requests for budget information regarding two of Orono’s largest projects ie: “The Taj Mahal Maintenance Shed” and the Duplicate Fire Department. Clearly, he appears to have his own agenda, and isn’t this in direct conflict with his duties as Orono Mayor to act on behalf of the citizens?

Which Item Number is Correct? Orono's Inconsistent Documentation
Well, this is interesting. The Agenda for tonight's Planning Commission doesn't match the actual Item number listed. We are within 12 hours of the meeting and who knows which item is actually on the agenda?
